My Story
Born and raised in Southern California, I discovered my passion for graphic design during my high school years and have pursued it ever since. With more than 26 years of experience in creating visually compelling graphics and receiving recognition through awards, I am proud to highlight some of my other achievements. In addition to my professional endeavors, I am a devoted father to two wonderful children and a supportive husband to my wife. Serving as the president of our Homeowners Association, I have contributed to its seamless functioning over numerous years. Furthermore, I have had the privilege of sharing my graphic design expertise with local high school newspapers, fostering creativity among aspiring young talents.
Experiences
XBIZ // Creative Director/Graphic Designer // 2008 - Present
With more than 16 years at XBIZ, I have worn many hats from freelance designer to Creative Director. Currently, I am responsible for creating and paginating monthly print and digital editions of the leading business news source for the adult industry. I design the pagination, layouts, graphics, and typography of each issue, following the brand guidelines and editorial standards. I also collaborated with the editors, writers, and photographers to ensure the quality and accuracy of the content. I manage the production process from start to finish, including exporting and uploading the files to the printer and distributor.
The Santa Clarita Signal // Creative Director // 2010 - 2015
I led a team of talented designers and editors to create engaging print and digital media for various audiences and purposes. I oversaw the production of a daily newspaper, weekly and monthly magazines, web banners and ads, and other promotional materials. I also provided IT support and troubleshooting and participated in community events such as dressing up as Santa Claus for a community parade.
Family Magazine Group // Art Director/Production Manager // 2001 - 2008
I led Family Magazine Group to become the largest free parenting publication in the United States that continually won national awards for editorial and design. I created a large internship program, advertisement programs, operating producers, managed IT, and many other programs that help drive revenue, page count, and distribution.
Best Buy // Computer Sales/Repair Technician // 1998 - 2003
I was responsible for assisting customers with their computer needs, providing technical support and troubleshooting, and performing hardware and software repairs.
